Default Sierra MC / Servo options

Hi all, havnt been on here for a while!

Wanted to ask a lil brake question if possible as my knowledge is escaping me as time goes on!

I have built a P100, 4x4 24V Bob Twin Turbo...

She's currently running 4x4 cossie spec brakes but on the stock pinto master cylinder and servo... and as im sure you can imagine the brakes are never that great.

Have been reading about and have seen that my old mate Dojj has posted on here a few times about using a 2.0 sierra with discs all round to get a good master cylinder/servo combo...

However theres something niggling in the back of my mind about using the ABS pump onto the pedal... and wiring up just the pump (no ABS wiring etc) and this gives an amazingly good pedal.

Anyone remember if this is true, or if im dreaming, or what needs to be done?

I have got a modulator i could put into the pipe system if required but technically shouldn't be needed as wont be running any ABS.

PS, im not overly interested in going to a wilwood bias box or such like at the moment.

Cheers for any replys

I have just done / doing this , I have the 4x4 cosworth mastercylinder but I have not fitted the abs block (as I don't want to run it ) and I have just put all the wires onto the master cylinder , I still have most of the wires but I plan to cut out the ones I don't need , sure I seen Ronnie Amis had a loom made up just to power up the master and do away with the abs block, could be worth asking him as I think he knew someone that sold them for around £90

If you have the space you can run the abs type mc with a patch loom to power it up

Someone used to make them but it was a few years ago

The dohc 90 spec mc and servo combo is more than up to the task as a bolt in 10 minute swap if you can locate one for the time being though

Matthew, please let me know if you have any joy... I have a complete ABS setup and all connectors etc so i can easily wire up.. can surely only be a live to the pump that the live is cut when pressure achieved ?

And exxxcellent cheers Dojj Do you know if the 2.9/2.8 non ABS master cylinders are the same (Discs all round). They seem more readily available as well as 2.9 non ABS granada master/servo... they look pretty huge compared to my pinto p100 setup

there were 2 different makes of servo and 3 different makes of master cylinder so it makes sense to buy them as a complete unit

the dohc ones were all the same, it's the earlier versions from the xr4x4's that differed

and yes, they are plenty big enough so make sure they fit in the engine bay without being subjected to cooking via the turbo/exhaust
