Default No dump valve

Right well it's the first of May tomorrow and my cabs coming of its sorn so I decided to make a little change, I've taken of the baileys dump valve and blanked it of to see what it feels like. I've never drove a s2 without a dump valve on and this is my forth one so what should I expect different if anything?

If it was working fine before with no leaks then you will notice no difference to the drive at all.
If your running enough boost you may even hear a little chatter though.

Raining on and off all day today so I didn't get to try it out, good old British weather.

I am going to ask the age old question here, does chatter not damage the turbo due to it stalling the turbo,

Reason I ask is that I have had conflicting views on this and my mate who insisted on letting his chatter suffered 3 dead turbos I kept the valve and mine was ok?

With a T series IME no it doesn't.... 32psi CVH and then onto a ZT at 24psi (basically flat out) three years later and daily driven it hasn't failed.

I get a little chirp if I change just as the boost peaks

However, just wanted to run this by you. Mine feels like it pulls a bit better just after a gear change. I was told its because the built up air isnt being vented to atmosphere so the intercooler, charges pipes etc stay pressurized so you dont have the lag of the turbo filling them up again. Or is it just a placebo effect of being told that?

Offset that against waiting for the potentially stalled turbo to spool again.... Much of a muchness IMO lol

I finally gave mine a good run today without it and I don't think there's any difference at all apart from the noise, not to keen myself on the chatter.

I've had my Bailey's running for about 11 years and never had a problem with the way the car drives.
