Default rs turbo tuning etc

hi everyone im asking this on behalf of my brother who all being well will be purchasing his second fiesta rs turbo next week, now the last one he had was quite a while ago and was chipped by castle performance with one of there 175 chips/full stainless and k&n and was a cracking little fast road car.

the one he is looking at buying is totally standard bar a stainless system its still even on oe air filter.

so first thing will be to get a k&n on there and then looking into getting the car chipped iv been doing a bit of research and think the 195 conversion that msd do would be perfect and obviously a step up from his last one and will still be very responsive using the t2 turbo.

my questions are is it essential to upgrade the intercooler when going for the 195 conversion? would a cam change yield some extra grunt up top where the turbo drops off?

also it will want lowering im sure he went for the apex -30mm kit on his last one and it sat nice is this still a decent kit for them or is there something better out there (apart from coilovers)

Personally if the car he's buying is completely standard, keep it that way, as the fiesta rs turbo are becoming mor rare and going up in value

If u do mod anything keep all the original parts for when u want to sell it .

I would personally would upgrade the intercooler even if its just a double core pace jobby. Its hard to get low inlet temps with the O.E cooler.

Again i would get rid of the t2 as u will not see over 200 bhp. But again thats just me.

cheers for the replies guys

i think he will keep the t2 as he likes the response for point to point driving and he isnt really someone for figure chasing, if it was me then it would have a t3 conversion straight away.

what are the airtec coolers like i see they do one that doesnt require the front bumper to be butchered

good shout on keeping the oe parts

This.
Do not go cutting up the bumper to fit one!
