Default Mk7 fiesta zetec-s 1.6 tdci?

Anyone on here have one, and can they give their account of every day life with one???

Im selling my 330d daily hack and to be honest im gonna down size (as when i have a bigger car it gets treated like a van). I really have took a shining to one of these, after having a 1.4 tdci fiesta mk7 hire car in france a few years back and loved it. They where brand new then. So i wanna personal insight in 3/4 year old 1.6 tdci zs fiestas and what are the running costs, problems, etc with them!!

I think the Ford 1.6 tdci engine can give lots of problems

My neighbour had a Focus 1.6 tdci and scrapped it in the end

Guy I used to work with had lots of trouble with his also, for some reason the injectors go wrong, the oil carbons up, screws the turbo and bearings.

I'm just assuming that the Fiesta would have the same engine, would be worth checking though!

yes they are pug engines

i have one and im lovig it at the mo, just had it remapped its returning 68mpg with mixed driving

was doing 57 / 58 mpgs before this

it serviced regular with oil changes often and i have had no issues at all

only downside being i lowered it on h+r springs and it knocked the front tyres out real quick as geo is all upset

had cruise control retro fitted and its lovely to drive now

I've had a Fiesta Titanium TDCI for three years and had no problems so far "touches wood", done 42,000 trouble free miles. Tax on mine is as above, £20.

Gus, where did you have yours remapped as I've struggled to find anywhere that does them if you have a DPF.

Not a Fiesta but I have an 11 plate Focus 1.6 tdci 110, the tax is £30 a year and as my daily which i literally thrash to death most the time, i still average 45+ mpg all the time, cruising along at 65mph or so will nudge 68mpg (fuel computer so give or take a bit).
It had done 18320 miles when i bought it two years ago, now has nearly 38000 and I have not had one single problem at all.

My sister had a 1.6tdci focus (05 plate) and it got it's legs driven off it for 18 months to 2 years, rain sleat or snow it never failed.

I think regular services/oil changres was the key. I would imagine the mk7 fiesta's may have a better set up being a few years newer than the focus's?

Thanks for the input guys. I seen this earlier, and for a standard car i think its a real nice looking thing.

http://bit.ly/1dXidnD

But obviously doing my homework on their driveabilty and reliability in daily useage.

Like i said earlier, i had a 1.3 tdci version as a rental car for a few months when i worked in france back in 2009 and i loved it. Real good handler etc. But it was a brand spanker when i had it. Remember it being very good on fuel too
