Default ive just got my first cossy

hi
ive just got my first cossy. its a sapphire 4x4 1992 kreg 65000 miles, stage 2 ,17s tsw hock'n' hinds, dump valve 3inch stainless pipe and cone filter and koni adjustables.
it drives really well no rubbles or nasty noices from the engine.
the only think that stress me out is a knock from the front passenger side suspension its not all the time only now and then, ive had a look but cant work out where the knock would be coming from, the rear suspension and front sub frame has been poly bushed but the rest standard rubber joints.
any help on this matter i would be very great full
many thanks
mark

Welcome to the world of cosworth power!
What colour did you get?
From your description I would say your wheels are TSW Hockenheims?
Quite rare now as they dont make them anymore. Id love a set myself!

Does it knock when driving normally or is it just when you are near enough on full lock turning? If so, then its the drive shaft, it does it on cars that are lowered.
Mine does it too, I just try to avoid using full lock which usually just means a couple of extra shunts when getting into a space
You can rectify it if it worries you by using XR4x4 front shafts which people put in as they are slightly longer.

Now quit going out on a Friday night, and forget buying new clothes from now on, and you better cancel that summer holiday while you're at it, mmmkay?

Hope your liking the car mate!
Also in addition to Martyns comment, i would get the ball joints at the front checked, could just be those and not expensive to fix. But it does sound like a cv joint/driveshaft problem, nothing too serious.

hi chaps
thanks for the replys
first of all yes the wheels are TSW Hockenheims and the car is white, it only knocks when going in a straight line along a normal road, no knocking at all on cornering or full lock.
i would put a picture on but im hopeless with computers , if i send some pics by email will someone please put them up
thanks

hi, my 4by had a knock an it turned out to be the shocker loose, take the 19mm nut of the top strut mont with the car on the floor, remove the top cover and check the nut underneath. may not be that but just a thought

I have the same problem on the near side front. the knock is not all the time but enough to anoy you. replaced with new track control arm, new coil over adjustable - checked top mount nut, still got knock in a straight line. poly bushed anti roll bar into control arm but not to the chassis floor, maybe thats were the problem is.
