Sporttex exhausts, if so are they worth getting?

I have, but not on a focus, so not sure if they are any different, but for the price I paid for my last one, it did the job, sounded good, and looked decent.

Was the sound ok on low revs? I don't want an over the top burble that just draws attention.

I've had two one on a mk2 fiesta xr2 and one on a TD escort van.
Both sounded good at higher rpms , but weren't over loud when at idle and low revs.
I'd recommend one for the price both were sub Ł150

Were they a full system or just the back box?

Both were full systems , one was bought as straight fit for the fiesta with a mid box and back box.
The other was the same tailpipe, but with a mk4 escort I think mid box

You reckon it'll still sound good with just the back box fitted to a ST exhaust on mk1 focus? I'm not looking for performance, just looks with a nice sound

To be honest mate , there's only really one way to find out.
I liked both of the set ups I had fitted to mine.
You just want to make sure it's not going to restrict your gas flow if it's turbo'd ?
Is the rest of the st exhaust standard ?

It's a 1.8 with a full st exhaust. No turbo. I can't afford that stuff yet on an apprentice wage

Yeah removing the back box and replacing with a sportex will be fine.
I'd still look around as you may find a better box.
