Hi! Just a quick one, have owned several fastfords before and trying to decide on my next one, i seem to see a lot of focus st's having engine changes..... Whats the most common cause for their failures? Thanks

Liners spliting is there biggest problem which means a new engine when thay go, my mate had one and after a few months by by car.

not sure if this was cured on newer models but its the biggest issue on them.

It does help how the car is driven,

Plenty of TLC can reduce the likelihood of the liners splitting. E.G let the car warm up before spirited driving. and letting the car cool down before ignition off also driving the cor off boost for the last couple of miles of your journey seems to help from what I have read.

Another thing is oil diaphragms and boost solenoids.

the liners can go on the most pampered cars and there is no set trend for them to fail. A couple of tuners do a block modification that appear to be working well.
