start he car in the morning drive 30 miles to work motorway all the way temp gauge does not move all the way and its cold dosent warm up only warms up stuck in traffic when the needle moves to halfway even then its not that hot any ideas 52 plate petrol 2 litre any ideas

Could also be the temperature sensor. Might explain it not starting when it's warm

Thermostat cines with the housing and you'll wince when you find out how much they are
EBay bargains can be glad but you must buy genuine ford stuff

You will also need one of them hose clip tools and a second pair of hands will have the job done in about 15 minutes

Its the wiring and access that cause most ussues

As said only buy genuine, I bought non genuine for my old Mondeo and it didn't fix it. Got a genuine one and it was fine
