Bought an RS2000 but sadly it's to far gone to put back onto the road
however I have a MK5 XR3i stone mint shell would or could the running gear be fitted into the XR3i shell without to many problems or would it just be one big headache.
The RS2000 is complete and running without fault just a shame to have an excellent engine lying doing nothing
any advice comments would be good thanks

Nothing wrong with a RS2K engine got one as a track car standard other than a super chip had no trouble out dragging a ST150 on the straights. Are the cars both face lift or non face lifts other wise wiring is a bit of a nightmate. I was in same boot my early RS was to rotten to fix so swapped everything other to a face lift 1.3 shell

There's nothing wrong with it like you say just, imho, there are better engines to be had for less money, that are lighter and more readily catered for by after market parts companies
Guess it depends what the plan is, i cant think of a Ford 4pot he could put in standard without mods that will give the same performance that will bolt into a Escort plus if stuff already there from the RS wont cost much.
