Default Renault Clio immobiliser help

Hello all im just starting to have trouble with the wifes Renault clio,, its S reg when i put my key in the ignition it struggles to put the flashing immobilizer light out and today it doesn't seem to want to put the light out at all,, so the red immobilizer light is still flashing and i only have one key, my question is ,, is this a key problem or a ecu immobilizer problem.. any help on this guys,, one thing i can say is thsat this issue has steadilygot worse

Normally a key issue. I'm guessing you have the key with one large button in the middle? I found that when they're temperamental, try squeezing the key as you turn it in the barrel. I have a few years experience at a Renault dealer and it seemed to do the trick for a while with most of them.... Eventually you'll more than likely need a new key.
