Aaron, check the tyre pressures when cold, maybe over inflated causing light steering.

My steering is heavy but I have a cooler on so theirs a chance that it's not getting warm enough but I was suffering from bubbling fluid on long runs so needed sorting

how do you mean "light steering"

as in "super assisted" or "light in the straight ahead position"?

the one issue i had with all my sierra's was that the steering was just about 1% lighter than i wanted it to be on the 2wd cars and just 1% heavier on the 4wd cars

the biggest effect on it was by changing the arb, but the stiffer ones i fitted made the steering sharper rather than lighter of heavier
