mondeo 2005 2ltr glow plug warning
my 2005 Mondeo 2ltr tdi runs fine and smooth but if I try and accelerate to pass another vehicle the glow plug alarm comes on and it goes into limp mode which immediately drops the speed which is somewhat dangerous - I've had the fault codes read numerous times and there has not been a definite reason given for what is the problem it's costing a huge amount of money to have the code read but each time the same fault comes back . can anyone help ?
they said they traced fault to "snapped wiring to Turbo actuator & replaced wiring harness.
Then they said the Turbo actuator was faulty - this was replaced 17/7/2013
fault is exactly the same

You said: "the same fault comes back".
I assumed that to be the exact same fault code (number).
What you mean is that the symptom stays the same, you don't know if it's the same fault code each time.
Get the codes read again. If it's the same fault code (number) then have them take a look at the so-called "Freeze frame" data to determine whether the boost is too high or too low. Depending on that a trained mechanic could search for the fault.
You may want to use another garage for that task.

thanks & yes the symptoms are the same - no idea if the fault code is the same car is booked in tomorrow to have codes read yet again !!!! this seems to be a common fault with this car - just wish I'd read about it before buying it's cost me a fortune and still giving the same fault symptom Ford have a lot to answer for with a very unreliable vehicle

"Unreliable vehicle?" Don't you mean unreliable garage?
"This seems to be a common fault with this car." How do you know that. You only have the fault code number on one occasion with your problem. Never mind the other problems on other cars. Or do you mean that you must have the codes read multiple times? That's not Ford's or the vehicles fault. That's down to the lack of knowledge of the garage you are using - probably because the hourly rates are lower than the dealer.

It may very well be down to the garage but having searched this problem on the net I'm amazed at the number of others that are experiencing this flashing glow plug alarm and the number that seem to be continuing having problems being unresolved so that's my reason for saying it's unreliable - I'll no more tomorrow when I get the codes read.hopefully there will be some resolution

The flashing glow plug light can be caused by several dozens of problems.
That's not one common problem as you call it. And that goes for every make, not just Ford.
Be happy there's a warning light nowadays and that you are able to read fault codes to help you (well, the trained professionals) to find the problem. Back in the old days a car would have a problem which the driver didn't even know because there was no (flashing) warning light. Never mind the problems (or considerable more time) a mechanic had, because he didn't have a fault code to point him in the right direction.

More problems are reported with Mondeos of this age as there are more of them on the road than other cars.
They do have their problems, but then so does other stuff.
Same shit, different badge!

As promised I have just picked car up from garage :- Fault code is same P2263 garage has spent many hours testing sensors & intake system for air leaks without any faults - removed actuator& found not sticking at time of test however they are saying that the turbo actuator should be replaced again ( this was replaced 17/07/13 & still under guarantee) I have to take their word because I have no knowledge of how the system works I'll have to do as requested & hope it solves the problem
