Fiesta rs turbo with fuel flap? Not cap?

Been around 5 years since I last owned a rs and got the bug again,, anyway seen a 1990 H fiesta with a fuel flap ? Is this right? always thought it was a screw off cap?

Its not right no. Fiest turbo's had a fuel cap. The rs1800 came with a flap as this was whats knows as a mk3.5. Double skinned rear quarter. Different mirrors and tailgate doesn't have the swage line either side of the number plate recess near the bottom. Unless when new it had a legit reshell. Think they changed the shells circa 1994 L reg

Yeah thought it was the 3.5s that had the flap, although when I checked insurance the reg number came up as a 1990 fiesta rs turbo ? Strange one !

The fuel cap may have just rotted out and was replaced with a flap instead as at the time it looked better used to see a few people do that

Check the floor numbers before deciding if a reshell or just had a mk3.5 rear quarter fitted

A lot of the time people are putting the 3.5 rear quarter on as there readily still available and the mk3 rear quarter is not.

Have a look at the seat subframes, they differ between the 3 and the 3.5. Probably had a repair panel.
