Simpson race exhausts are a custom exhaust manufacturer.

Very good, and totally unnecessary when you can buy a Mongoose off the shelf that does the same thing!

Do the mongoose systems sound stupid with the centre boxes removed? as i was thinking of doing this with mine ( i know it depends on the ex housing to an extent)

I cut out the centre box of my Mongoose and to be honest it sounds much the same except on boost where it dose seem to be a wee bit louder.

I have a spare system sitting in the garage just incase i change my mind though.

It sounds the nuts, and at certain rpm it kinda resonates your ears, hard to describe - tickles your ears - yeah and I'm not on drugs.

But saying they aren't loud? Hmm...

I've got the smaller tailpipe version of the 4x4 cosworth mongoose exhaust for sale.

Its extremely quiet on idle and quite a reserved but deep basey sound when on throttle. I personally found it too quiet.

Inside diameter is just under 3 1/2 inches i would say 3 1/3 but closer to 3 1/2 than 3"

How is it fitted at the front cos a 3/ 1/2 wont bolt up it needs a reducer pipe. Only one company I connected could actually produce a 3 1/2 system & even they had to buy the bends in. Biggest Mongoose is a 3" can i suggest you are measuring the tail pipe, which on mine is 4" the rest is 3".

Are you measuring the inside of tailpipe.

My Mongoose sounds pukka, they are the the best exhaust for the saff IMO, however i do have some clearance issues sometimes when fully loaded (TBH i think my suspension has seen better days LOL!)

The Magnex system fits better, has 2 middle silencers and is therefore quieter but it's more expensive and harder to get hold of.

I'd say go for the Goose!!!!

Ye the tail pipe mofo's. Not sure on the diameter of the actual system but it dont look muchg smaller than the tailpipe. It will most likely be 3" system with 3 1/2" tailpipe

Well the system is 3" and you can get either 3" 3 1/2" or 4" tailpipe varieties.

Rod is after a COMPLETE 3 1/2 " exhaust

Never said it wasnt loud, just said that there wasnt much difference on idle or normal driving between the one with the centre section that has been opened up and everything removed as opposed to the system with the centre box intact. Like i said once it comes on boost you notice a different note. personally i dont think its that much different, well not from the inside anyway. Really aint to bothered as its on my play cossie so only comes out now and then.

On my 4x4 i have a standard Mongoose with the smallest tailpipe i could get. It has a pretty big oval centre box in it and it is perfect. Could drive around all day and it wouldnt bother me. No droning or anything. Highly recomended
