Default Help needed for 3dr

I noticed the steering was a bit vague so investigated and found that where the steering rod joins on to the steering rack there is a rubber bush and its perished on one side..obviously the problem...but how do i change it??.........

Tiff a car is bought sold as seen....plus its nearly 20 years old...i expect a few worn bits

not a easy job, the steering coloum needs to come out i think.

you need to undo the pinch bolt holding the coloum to the bush then the 3 or 4 m8 bolts which hold the bush to the rack.

think thats right.

Been a while since i've looked

Need to grind the rivets out if you intend changing it , i understand Powerflex now do an uprated version of the std rubber shit thing as a direct replacement .

Just change the whole lower coupling?
Dont think they are meant to be rebuildable as such.
2 bolts is it not? 10 or a 13mm spanner I believe?
Remove the upper bolt n swing the clamp out the way
The coupling should then just slid up n off the splined shaft.
