Default mk5 fiesta zetec s eml light

hi
ive got a mk5 zetec s and the eml light has come on,just looking for any ideas what it could be.

ive recently had the timming belt n clutch done but to me it seems not as quick as it use to be.

be very greatful for some1 to point me in the right direction

It could be many things, it needs the fault codes reading.

If the cam belt has just been done, now it's not as quick, it could be because the cam>crank timing is off, and it's putting a timing correlation error in?

You could unplug the lambda and not know any difference by driving it, other than it using a tad more fuel!!

All guess work, it needs the codes checking, by someone who understands what they're looking at.

You are right ive just thought about it lol.If the lamda was fucked it would more or less drive the same just burn more fuel

Lambda (narrow band) only works during idle and light cruise situations (once the sensor is warmed up!), on full throttle, lambda feedback is ignored by PCM.

You pair should know that!

Cat might be blocked up too...that brings EML up on these and could be a cause of feeling sluggish!

ok thanks guys.so if my cat is blocked can I just put a de cat pipe.any1 in the London area got a faultcode reader.
