higher mileage your into replacement flywheels ,timing belts, injectors etc if you buy low mileage your less likely to have any of that, that's a rule for buying an diesel car not just the focus

No timing belts to be replaced on these. The PSA engine has a lifetime chain, designed to last the entirety of the vehicle. There are several around with mega mileage and the original chain... I bought one of these after using my dads remapped 2.0 TDCI for a week, and have now bought myself a newer (facelift) model as a replacement (same engine). Awesome cars.

Maybe I should have been more specific with my reply then if you want to get picky, but please tell me why it is not emphasised as an item of importance to change in this engine, and has been described several times as a 'lifetime of vehicle item'? It's even spoken about around Dunton as a lifetime item, let alone most dealerships I've visited. I know people DO have them changed, but they've been proven to last this far without being changed...

the chain is a lifetime chain but the belt needs to be replaced at 125k miles or 10 years
