P8 ecu question
As i am looking for a L8 or P8 ecu i find no L8's but a lot of P8 ecu's.
Most of them from Lancia, Fiat and even bikes.
Are they usable for a sierra ?
I mean; is the hardware the same for all P8's and have I only to change the software (chip) like from MSD.
Or are the sensors and hardware not compatible.

I did some research on the web and all the IAW 4... series ecu (P8) i found ( lancia, fiat ,...) have the same connection diagram.
So i assume the hardware is identical.
But i wait a response from the specialists.

The trivia is if Ford had there way they would have used EEC management (which they did in the end with the ST Escos), but Cosworth wanted Weber.
They are a good ECU and very advanced for there time and being Weber is the reason why you find a lot of Italian cars used them, some used two such as the Maserati Bi Turbo, one to manage each bank, as did the Ferrari F40.
