OBD P0118 engine temp High output
I've recently bought myself a 2000 1.3 and found the cooling fan to be running all the time.
As soon as the engine starts, the fan starts.
If you switch the engine off and just have the ignition on, it doesn't run.
I was told it was the coolant temp switch which has now been replaced but i'm still getting a P0118 code in the system and the fan still runs constantly.
Any Ideas would be a massive help???
Thanks in advance

Does the overheat warning light come on on the dash?
Not too sure if there is one or two temperature sensors on these, you either have just the one sensor that gives its reading to the ECU, the light on the dash then gets it signal from the ECU. Or, you have 2 sensors, one for the ECU, and one for the light on the dash.
Could be that there is two, and you've changed the wrong one?

Fault code can be set also when there's an open circuit.
Either between ecu and sensor or between sensor and ground.
Remove connector from the coolant temp sensor.
Measure voltage in the connector with ignition on. 1 wire should be 5 volt.
The other wire should be ground.
