Default Strange potentiometer

Hi

Does anybody knows what this is for ?
It's some sort of big potentiometer ????

It's a 3dr cossie from Italy with aircon.
Maybe something from the aircon.

I found out the aircon is a Diavia unit. It was fitted in Italiy when it was sold in 1986.

Can't believe it has anything to do with a/c and even in 80/90's cars were designed to be user friendly.
Looks like a factory fit though.(re metal bracket)

CO adjustment is the small yellow screw next to the ECU plug isn't it? Usually has a cap over it?

Did some research and it looks like it's a thermoswitch from the Diavia aircon.
For setting the temperature from the aicon. Very basic indeed.
