Default Removing ignition barrel without keys?

My mate has been keeping his saff in one of our units as he's offshore a lot and doesn't like leaving it outside his house , all was well until last Friday some little fucktards smashed fuck out the fire exits and stole 3 push bikes (2 shit ones and my brothers 2k cannondale) and they smashed open the key press and took all our car keys , tried to steal a Chrysler voyager we were doing a homer on but they couldn't get it started , so , the only set of keys for my mates saff are gone along with the alarm fob and imobaliser stick , he's got a new lock set so door locks got done today but he's having trouble removing the ignition barrel , is there a trick to doing it, or can you go to ford and get a key made to that barrel so it'll come out so he can swap them over , I never had a chance to help him as I was doing a homer all day but going to have a go tomorrow , any tips of removing the barrel with out damaging the steering column?

Mate you could be lucky, with the chassis number of the car Ford should be able to give you the Tibbe number for the key or cut you one there and then.

That way you could get the barrel out and replace it so the tea-leaves wont get it

Remove the cowling and you should see a small metal join which drops down to remove the barrel

If push comes to shove you can remove the steering wheel and bust the steering lock pin and then removing the entire top portion of the lock assembly

You can still pick them up complete and that may be the easiest solution if you can't get the lick out and bugger the barrel assembly

Yeah seems like the best option , the boot key was different to the rest of the car when he got it so not sure if the locks have been changed before but aye both front doors were the same as the ignition so get number off them and get key cut , cheers lads
