Hi I have just replaced my boost hose on my 06 plate mondeo tdci, due to a wooshing noise and cleaned the egr with an egr cleaner now no black smoke and no wooshing noise but the engine management light has just come on, oh and it smells like it's burning oil. I have no diagnostic code reader any idea or do I just shell out for a trip to the garage? Please help

 

Did you connect the EGR properly? It could just be an EGR fault code. Get it to a garage and get the code read/cleared!

 

I have just picked the car up from the dealer I bought it from ( had a lot of trouble since buying the car ) so called them and told them they needed to sort it, so far so good thank you for all your help dan
