Default anyone work for mercedes?

how do i remove the gear selector module from a 2000 a class?

apparently it's some sort of ecu by the gearstick so any ideas?

I guess it says f on the dash? as they go quite often on the older a class chassis 168, you have to take all the centre console but out the. there's 4 Allen keys that go around the gear module, then a cable which has a clip mechanism on it from under on the box, they don't need to be programmed either. it's a lot of messing around as need to take ash tray out hand brake leather loads of hidden screws etc. but can be done pretty quickly

can't get that cunty clip off, even used a slide hammer on the bastard and still no joy

everything else is off, i've even put the bolts back in again with no luck, the fucker ain't moving

any ideas? is it locked into place until the selector is in N or something stupid like that?

That greenly looking thing just lifts up use a screwdriver they are on there well but not normally that bad and id put it in N as if I remember right it makes life easier hash

well, i used a hammer as suggested earlier

but i used it to pry a pry bar up underneath the clip, and once it was out it was all relativly easy, even the adjuster is easy and not as nightmare as haynes has made out

just hope it all goes together properly again
