has anyone here got or know about the cost (for a year) to road tax a Mercedes sprinter 59plate 313 Euro 5 ? ....mines is around 200 odd, the reason I ask is my brothers , Mercedes sprinter 56plate 315 Euro 4 is only 140 a year ,
so how do they work that out as I think the euro 5 would be lower emissions than a Euro 4 ?
or is it because the euro 5 is a 59plate and the euro 4 is a 56plate ?
any info would be good as I feel done lol

there was a little period around 2006 where the tax was lower on euro 4. then after that newer euro4 jumped in price to the 200 mark.
only know this as when looking to by a navara. an 06 was cheeper to tax than an 07 even tho they were the same engine and emissions.

My van is Euro4 and circa Ł140 per year....yet I know other guys with slightly newer and older who get robbed even more at full whack for LGV
Around 2006 it does seem some fell into a lucky category. Mine is just a small van, was 56 plate.

Seems they dont want cleaner vehicles...just more money as they changed the rules again
