Default Mk1 focus tdci alternator squeak

Sure mines stated squeeking, but I've just looked online for a replacement seems that's it's got a shaft and bearing tensioner the clamps to the alternator itself

Is the tensioner part of the cam-belt assembly?

An exchange unit at local motor factors it's 113 quid and I don't know if that's both parts or not lol

If its similar to a tranny connect the aux belt tensioner is at the back of the engine and the pas pump bolts to it.

Yer I assume it as as a connect is a mk1 focus engine bay and it uses the same 1.8 engine

Is the alt at the rear of the engine then? It sounds like alt belt squeel on a bearing so looking at the parts available I'm guessing it's prob the tensioner

more than likely the extension shaft of the alternator.has a bearing and rubber bush on it which sometimes collapses or splits.worth taking that off and giving it a spin

It's typical I went out there to have a look this morning and no bloody squeel lol

Had a quick look through the Haynes manual too seems the aux belts dose bloody loads on the tdci engines! I may start with the tensioners and a new belt and see how I go Ita defo some sort Bering squeel
