Had one yes, based on the STI 5 tbh, which imo is the better car, engine's can be iffy so be careful, gearboxes weak too. Good fun car though, i PREFERED my Version 3 TYPE -R Great car.

How come the engines in the P1s are poo where as the normal engines are a bit better.
I used to here people say that number 3 piston used to fail on these impreza engines????

My mate has a P1 which has covered over 200k, not on its original engine though! They can also rot badly but if you don't look in the right places you may assume your buying a minter

Good cars if looked after, obviously paying a lot extra for the fact it has 2 doors but they do look much nicer than the 4 doors.

I had 06 impreza 2.5 turbo fucking thing flew and handled like go kart!
Could be doing. 70mph in 5th and floor it and be just as fast pull away as in stand still in 1st,
She ate few motors on motorways while I had her!

bar the 22b it's still the nicest impreza made IMO.
buy a standard one if possible , the 18s and Alcons are a nice extra tho

Iv had a 1998 sti... I loved it till I went through two gearboxes... the dont like a 1st 2nd quick shift from the lights.... but it was good fun and woke the street up when I fired it up at 5:35am
I drive one years ago when i had a z3m, thought the p1 was slow compared to that and other similar powerd cars id had at the time. I was a huge subaru fan until i owned one, had a real nice 2004 wr1 and was so dissapointed by the way it handled, if you tried to put it into a bend quickly it just understeered loads and if you went near the power it went sideways immediatley. Heard plenty of others have had similar experiences also
Went and viewed the car yesterday and took it for a spin! Decided yesterday i was gonna buy it
i will put up some pics later today once i collect it
thanks for the comments
I love P1s. There is a guy tottenham who buys and sells scoobies and evo's, he always has some tasties on the forecourt
I believe he also owns a tuning company called 'purpleturtle' in Enfield

That was due to a poor map (standard sti map for Japanese fuel) that wasn't designed to run on UK fuel and subsequently cars suffered engine failure due to pre-ignition.
Loads of differences between the p1 and more common subarus.
We were lucky to get a pic of both cars as my dog stole my keys and was walking about with them in her mouth lol!

Few age related marks here and there but its to be expected with a 13 year old car! My dad and brother are painters so il get it looking as nice as i can! Still got 2 fords in my life so im a happy camper
A friend of mine won a P1 in a Max Power competition 4 or 5 years ago. He was just going to sell it pretty much straight on and use the money to buy something else but had a hell of a job selling it, only got a few grand for it in the end and it had had a lot of money spent on the engine.
