Hi guys,
Rebuilding my Sapphire Cossie.....started a while ago but only getting around to posting this now.
Plan was/is:
1: Engine rebuild - DONE.....for now until more money comes my way
2: Body rebuild - In process.
My old car wasn't too healthy and was going to cost too much to fix bodywise so took a chance, bit the bullet and got a pretty schweeet one recently
3: Have the craic with it
Hope you enjoy
Philip.
Here's the old girl before work started......happier times

Started stripping it down......bear in mind this is the first time we've attempted anything like this so bound to make a few mistakes and forget a few thingS!!!

Had to improvise.....plus we found a lot of the rusty stuff hiding away....thing fell apart in places....not even gonna post these pics as it's just depressing

Underneath was good already....stripped it anyway with bucketloads of elbow grease and a scraper
Then undersealed with Gravitex....was told it's the ''best''.....it mightn't be but we went for it anyway.....
Fairly happy with the outcome
Before:

After:

Sorry for the crappy pic quality.....no dosh to buy a decent camera

For the back end, nearly everything is standard
So I got some Koni's and Bayjoo's first. Cleaned and painted them also.
Polybushed diff mount came as well.....all good until we had it all installed and the ARB is rubbing the top bolt of the diff mount. Checked on here and it seems some cars are a few mm different for some reason. Anyway I wasn't just going to chuck it away/sell it and get a countersunk bolted one so again.......improvisation!!!!!

It was awkward but my mate got it sorted by grinding the nut on the top bolt when it was all installed

Turns out it wouldn't have mattered because when we had the back end fully installed.....the springs weren't sitting right.
Looked at the old car and noticed these 2 rubber supports at the top of the springs for f***%$k sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway long story short, removed and reinstalled everything again, here's how it looks, again pics are crappy but you get the idea lads

Koni's, a bit dirty I know, need cleaning:

Cheers mate, I feel the same myself that's why I bought her!
Hi Lee, Indeed I do have more planned. The engine is rebuilt but unfortunately no pics cos it's finished now. I'll post up pics later when it's all cleaned down and tidied etc...
Cheers mate, some of it is so time consuming and a pain in the ballbag but as they say, it'll be worth it.....I hope!! :/
Well Liam, again I'll post pics of the engine and spec when it's complete. Have the rolling road curves on my laptop somewhere so will post them also. It's basically a stage 4 so T34/.63, 55lbs, 500 cooler etc....pity I don't have pics of the rebuild but sure no doubt it'll be stripped in the future again for more ponies
Updates on the way guys cheers [|:-}

It took me til I was 25 to get one of my dream cars i.e. this one, so it can be done.....one day!
Cheers Cossie09.....the nice bits make it nice really
It really is a labour of love though
Hi John,
I'm from Limerick. Will be at shows and rallies all next year when it is finally finished....although I'm aware they're never truly finished! If you recognise the car, call for a chat.
Lift is a Godsend!!! Cheers Glenn.
....but I am biased Cheers Jason....labour intensive but worth it I guess!
Thanks a million Paul. It really is a cracker of a shell. Top man

Cheers Nash, finally more updates today!
