Default Fiesta St who's got one

Going to look at a 06 fiesta st t the weekend,
Standard apart from gaz coilovers, montune exhaust and induction,
What are they like to live with as a daily and is there anything that can be done without spending a fortune on performance mods for a bit more go.
Also any common problems i should look out for

Speak to Jamie at Jamsport, their Fiesta STs were flying at Ford Fair so they know what they are doing with them.

Hi mate, i bought one a couple of months ago to use as a daily, cant fault it really. Fun to drive, quite nippy and handles really well. One thing to watch out for is jumping out of second gear when changing from 3rd when slowing down.

Heres mine

I found it economical enough and didn't have a single problem with it and it took a fair bit of abuse as a daily

There pretty good dailys, ride is ok on the standard suspension can't comment on the gaz gha ride my gaz golds are hard riding. Fuel I was averaging around 30 touch 40 once stuck behind a carvan on a winding road that was three up with a weeks supply of camping gear, also I had cams and a map at the time.

Power steering is an issue mainly on track cars so it could be worth looking at the fluid if it's black then it needs changing

The front seats sometimes break and don't tilt believe the cables or handles snap but it a fiesta issue not just a st issue.

yeah forgot to mention the power steering fluid issue it gets got as the reservoir is mounted right on top of the pump and next to block.

If you find the power steering getting hot after a sprited drive then it could be worth looking into a relocation kit start at around 100 quid

I find well at least on mine the rear brakes go sticky, the slider bit get water in it a rusts but that is a general ford thing I've also seen it on focus's as well.

I wouldnt let these things put you off if you good with a spanner there good little cars to work on.

These are painfully slow as standard. Lovely wee car to drive but needed more power.

What chop said. Everyone I've driven felt lacking. Should have come with the Mountune 185 kit as standard

Had one for a few years. Much quicker cars out there for less money and in retrospect a waste of money 'tuning' them.

They aren't about out and out speed, they are a fun little go kart good for whizzing around corners. I don't think they are entirely practical either... No sixth gear means they are a nightmare on long journeys.

I used to have one a few years ago & couldnt fault it. Only time it let me down was when both front springs snapped whilst driving...bit scary but survived!

I only sold it to get my RS

I've had 2

One was built from a 1.4 shell so was missing the ESP / traction control and was 100 times better too drive than the other

Good fun daily runners
