Default saphh 4x4 front end knock

Hi peeps got a noise coming from the front of my car which doesn't show itsrlf all the time. It's a clunking noise that sometimes can be felt through the pedals/floor of the car. Have changed front shocks, tca bushes and anti-roll bar ones. The front prop is fine with no play, any suggestions? There's no play in either the wheel bearings or ball joints either

Are your bottom ball joint pinch bolts tight. I had a knocking noise on my saff when I was driving down the road and turned the steering wheel side to side it used to knock like fffooook. You could feel the nosie through the brake pedals and steering wheel and floor.

Would think they are tight Glen as they've been out and back in when changing the tca bushes and was present before hand. Will have a look at the downpipe also had a vibration through the car when last out in it although it's since disappeared free wheeling or in gear

Does it do it while turning from lock to lock? I had that once, one of the steering rack bolts were a bit loose.

Haven't tried that, just makes a clunking sound sometimes when on the road or going over speed bumps but can be through the pedals/floor or just a sound without anything else

Tbh I've thought it could be the front diff as it's worse when the car is warmed up

Id check the exhaust downpipe first as it easiest to do , just make sure its not catching front prop or chassis leg when warm , then poss drive shaft knock , will get worse going round corners

as said check position of the exhaust where it goes between the chassis and bell housing , it needs to be in the middle

Well four years after the original post I finally found out it was the balljoint on the tca. No play or any noises when jacked up in the air, but once pulled apart you could tell it was shot. Shows how much I drive the car lol

Theres that much pressure on the front bottom arms cause of the roll bar. Its hard to tell if you have play in the ball joints.
