1991 Fiesta RS Turbo - back on the road!
Hi
Around June last year I swapped my 330ci for an FRST. It would be my 5th Ford, 4th mk3 Fiesta and 2nd turbo, the previous being a rather dodgy RS1800 running a 2.0 zetec with a T34.63 bolted to it.
Anyway, the latest one. I ran her daily for a 20 mile commute for a few months with no major issues. After a 50 mile or so round trip she started smoking on the overrun after boosting; bit blue but only a small amount. Carried on using fine until around November; during heavy rain she suddenly developed a fault...any throttle would cause her to cut out, or at least attempt to. I tried a spare IACV and TPS but they didn't work and then mainly due to funds, she ended up getting left on my parents drive until Thursday.
Finally I got her transported to my house so I could clean her up, keep her garaged and start to look at the problem.
First things first, a few pics from when she was being driven...

And this is how she looked after a year of being sat on the drive...

First thing to do, get a battery and get her started. It would be the first time in at least 6 months. Connect her up, alarm goes straight off in my face! Jumped just a little bit!
Turned the key, cranked once and started straight up...brilliant! Now oddly enough, she seemed to idle and rev no problems at all...even better!
Took her up the street and apart form the brakes, all is well.
Now to clean her up. I spent a few hours all together this weekend cleaning, polishing and began to wax. I still need to pop out the rear windows to clean around the seals, take the wheels off to do them and around the arches and also the interior.
So here's a couple of pics now she's cleaned and snuggled away...

And a crappy beading pic

That's it up to now, more to come soon!
Oh, and if anyone recognises it, here is a previous build thread on here...pics have expired but I have a print out with them all on.

Spent another hour or so today waxing and cleaning
Wheels off, before shot. You can see the deep cracks in the sidewalls but I need new tyres all round anyway

After. No proper cleaning products and the condition isn't all that great on the inside.

New discs and pads are going to be needed

Sootie was having a good nosy round the car

And just a couple more of the car

Definitely would like to get hold of some side stripes but don't have money to do anything other than fix her up now. Unfortunately looking 90% likely I'll be selling soon because I'm hoping to go back to college in January so need to pay my credit cards off
Wheel nuts aren't like others I've had, I can upload pics of stamps and nuts if you're interested?
Somehow managed to lock her in the garage for a couple of hours the other day and now I have paw prints on the windscreen.
Just thought I would give this thread a quick update. She is now MOT'd and back on the road running great.
Only needed a set of tyres so Ł220 all in. Couldn't have been happier to be honest. Just needs new front discs as an advisory.
I am now a student again so likely going to be putting her up sale within the next week
