Default Modern engine in Falcon Futura

What modern engines would fit a Falcon Futura (1963/67)?

An injected 302 should go in there quite nicely. I think rods&sods would be a better place to ask..

Minirotty, you mean the engine out of a BMW 318 could be made to fit?.. Would wiring be a big issue?..

would think a bimmer engine in an american Ford is a no no.

Coyote engine fits with some work,302 HO (mustang engine) would be almost plug and play.
plenty of SBF conversions out there.
this car and body was available with the BBF so a SB shouldnt be much of an issue.

Just thought I should mention there will be an L6 engine in there to start with. Also not really after high speed/acceleration. Just looking to improve fuel efficiency for long distances. Would a ZETEC work?

Or maybe best to start by upgrading the 3 speed transmission. Is there any 4/5 speed one out there that could fit it?

a modern v8 will improve fuel effiency over your L6, and a zetec will be a bit down on torque to power this car.

The Zetec is a great engine but in N/A form would be a bit low on power for what I imagine is a heavy car. It's also a bit expensive to covert to RWD and get lost in that engine bay.

A modern 5.0 Ford Mustang crate engine would be perfect if a bit on the pricey side...

LS3 would fit in easily and is an awesome engine.

I've looked on ebay, and most of these engines seemed to vary between two and six grand.. is this normal? Or are there any second hand cars out there going for cheaper that one could rip them out of?..
