Default MK3 Escort Winter Coat Advice Please..

I will be getting my Escort back from paint in a week and with the weather and winter drawing in and with my back yard being framed in trees (no jokes please) I am thinking I will need a cover. Now I have a cheap and cheerful generic one I got from ebay but it doesnt convince me plus the fit is iffy and in a gale would probably blow away.

Can anyone recommend a decent winter cover with straps that fits the Mk3 well.

Thanks

I was afraid of that. Sadly neither an option so keeping an eye on it is the way forward.

Cheers

100% agree with that, will cause more harm than leaving it to the elements. As an idea could you not coat it in a thick coat of wax but not rub it off? Would do no harm I can see of.

Dust/dirt will stick to wax then be a cunt to get off without scratching paint imo

Not sure if you can wax a fresh painted car?

As has been said a cover is a bad idea. I had a S1 a few years back and covered it for the winter, it caused loads of issues, rot etc where as when I didn't use the cover, was fine. I also remember a mate covering his S2 and even though the cover was tight it still moved about and cause wear spots on the paint, mainly corners/edges.

Thanks again to everyone. I think I am settled now. Am going to "trim" the trees and leave uncovered. Will keep an eye for bird crap and sap but will let the car breathe.

I do like these though...

HAHA Stu they do indeed. Sadly mine died a couple of months ago although I still have two Dogue De Bordeaux's and they are 11stone wrecking machines.
