Ye I'd imagine there is one in ford's museum, it is believed Malcom Wilson has the only surviving road car, if somehow your friends is genuine then its worth a fortune I reckon.
RS200 can bring excess of Ł100k. The 1700T are in another league. As been said you can't compare to another one. You could ask what you wanted for it. The same could be said about the Diana S1
Guys this is what i've heard, i heard the same thing years ago and it's not someone i know. I am going to do my best to find out, would love to just have a look round it. The guy is getting on now, he has more money to not have to worry about it lol i'm just hoping if he does own one then he wont mind me wanting to have a poke round it.

Ye very hard too value, IMO I don't think they'd fetch as much as an RS200 though, not sure why, just don't think they'd be worth as much.
One sold a few years ago for around Ł30k or so I believe went to the chap that always has his RS200 on display at the shows. Quite tatty and rally rather than road spec
About 14 cars were built in all, most scrapped and a handful went to South Africa. One came back recently, which was the one that had a resto thread running on here
Yeah I heard that too. But wasn't the BDT derived from the formula 1 1500 engines?
If you watch the Equinox program on youtube about this period they show a Turbo BD being dynoed and it keeps twisting the block at around 10,000 revs and seizing up so they gave up on the idea of using it in F1 and developed the v6 instead that went in the Beatrice and later the Benetton
Got ya! It's a shame that newer cars don't have the same pedigree that they used to. Everything is so generic and bland with no roots. That's why I love old fords so much
Malcom got that from one of my old customers, couldn't belive what i saw when i opened the garage door. Used to live in a showroom in skegness at one time.

Here are some nice period pics
The one you mention will be on an RSOC display very soon
Anyone got a link to the restoration of the one that came back from South Africa last year? It had a jap engine fitted and last I heard was sent away to be blasted and dipped.

Thats theone Malcom Wilson now owns. Had it first hand from the Gent that sold it to him.
That's possibly the one then. Cant imagine there would be two in the same area been as rare as they are. Think some of the locals think he's got it tucked up somewhere.

100% the same one that used to live in the showroom next to the petrol station, that's going back around 20 odd years ago it was in there now. When the garage was shut he took it home, one of my late neighbours also knew The old owner, he used to be something big with the Audi rally team apparently.
