It's been tucked away for ages, not been driven for at least 5yrs and only once or twice in the 3 yrs previous to that.

I only went to the end of the road and back and spent most of that time checking the brakes lol.
I cleaned them up best I could with the pedal lol.
Lucky I was concentrating on them as it seems I have a fluid leak from a rear pipe/join, couldn't see properly.
Will get it in the garage and have a proper look another day.
But other than that I'm quite pleased with the old girl.

The plan was to do a full resto but realistically I don't have the time.
I'm going to just clean it up and sell it on.

They made 13 Renault 5 gt turbo convertables, mine is the only one I know of with 4 electric windows and an electric roof!
There's about 4 on the road and 8 left in total.

 

I remember reading about these when i got my first R5 GTT in 2006. Afaik it was a belgian company who converted them!!

Get it on the RTOC for sale. R5 GTTs are making daft money these days!!

Very nice and rare. A guy local to me has a silver convertible, it was mint but now sadly left in a dusty workshop.

WOW I thought I knew my cars!!!
There's a red dimma kitted r5 gtt (not cab)that turns up where I live about once a fortnight,looks very clean and mega rare.
Still looks cool to this day.

 

That looks a wicked little car what spec is the engine?

 

It did have a 200/200 fully built engine in it but I think it knocked the bearings out. I replaced it with a spare std lump I had in the garage but kept all the bolt ons so is now roughly 150bhp.
I did have a close ratio gearbox at one stage with the 200bjp lump and it was crazy fast. It used to push E36 M3s out the way, upto 120ish then hit a brick wall lol.
