Hello I have mk4 escort 1.3 popular and wanting to get a engine conversion any recommendations of which engine to put in it turbo ?

Depends on budget, 2.0zetec on carbs? Zetec turbo? Zvh? Cvh turbo? Rs2k?

ye rs turbo would be a good one, or a CVH from an xr3i, but your best bet is probably a zetec, all are simple enough to do

Ive got a xr3i engine but I want a turbo not sure on budget dunno how much those things cost ive heard the rs turbo are unreliable and to go for a 2 litre black top but just finding out whats what really just wanna buy an engine /loom /ecu and get some one to fit it

In that case find a reputable tuner near you and speak to them, there is no point buying a load of parts only to find out no one near you will touch it! lol
But my advice is yes leave the CVH turbo alone as they can be very unreliable, a 2.0 black top Zetec turbo is far superior in every way

A few bits, turbo, exhaust manifold, you need to sort an oil return feed to the block, an ecu to run it all, intercooler, inlet manifold, possibly uprated valve springs (if you aint going for much power or revving it too high, you might get away with standard ones, maybe), fuel injectors, downpipe, umm that's all I remember off the top off my head, but there's plenty of threads on here dedicated to zetec turbos
