Default Zetec tuning in mk2 fiesta - what next?

Hi, i have a mk2 fiesta. It has a silvertop 2.0l zetec, with ported and polished head, R1 bike carbs, 4 branch exhaust manifold, piper bp185 cams with vernier pulleys and megajolt ecu, with a diesel gearbox with rst lsd. Had it rolling roadrd at 193bhp.

The car also has a roll cage, cosworth 4x4 front brakes, spax lowering springs and shocks and adjustsble lower arms.

Im happy with the brakes, they are really good, but am going to change the suspension as its old and the shocks have had it i think. Can anyone reccomend any decent shocks and springs? And whats a good ride height drop? Its on 15" zetec s alloys

Also, what shall i do next fir more power?

Thanks in advance

If you want big power I think the only way it could be done is forced induction

What size are the valves? Maybe time to fit bigger ones and even wilder cams to break the 200bhp barrier? Not sure if the bike carbs will fuel that though (no doubt someone on here will no better)

The carbs might be ok if bigger jets are fitted.I think if he went for bigger valves the head would need machine work to accomadate them as well, meaning lots of expense lol

If not FI then more head work and wilder cams as already said and perhaps proper throttle bodies (can be from a bike if your looking to save money) using injection for more accurate fuelling, a rich mixture (often the case when using carbs) will rob you of a few BHP.

Change your gearbox to one that's not designed for an engine that tops out at 3,500rpm

Ye I know it won't be cheap, but he has already gone quite far naturally aspirated, could a bit of a hassle converting to forced induction (wrong cam profile, compression etc)

ITB's with headwork and lairy cams are the only way you'll see any more! Bet it goes well as it is..

Dump the box off and fit one with more suitable ratios. That box will be doing you no favours at all and has no benefit over other boxes.

change gearbox, rs1800 fiesta gearbox with the lsd or a s1 box and lsd, the car will pick up alot faster with better gearing and sprint alot better, hence making you think you have alot more power

the diesel gears are too long for a n/a zetec,

and direct too head thottle bodies, my personal favourite are AT power bodies, available from james goldstraw at grace engine developments at a good price
