Default Can sum1 give me a rough idea of respray costs?

not after quotes or anything, just a ballpark. also anyone that can really highly reccomend anyone localish to me. i dont mind paying a bit extra for a good job.

i basically just want my car's bodywork/paint sorted out so that it's A1... theres not much wrong with the paint as it is, but its showing the usual sierra signs of aging... rear archies are starting to bubble up, drivers doorlock area rusty where sum1's been at it with a screwdriver, just little bits like that. also where everythings been sprayed at diff times (ie bumpers, sideskirts, petrol cap etc.) it dont all match that well..

so i just want all the its of rust sorted out (only about 4 small spots) doors delocked (might aswell, instead of fixing the lock :P ) and a blowover in the same colour (i think) dont need enginebay or doorshuts or nothing like that done, just the visible bits.

howmuch you recon i'm likely to pay?

bearing in mind i dont want to do ANYTHING myself, no prep work or anything... just 100% drive in, drive out

Im paying a grand for a full respray, under bonnet, inside the car (laquering inside as well), outside, delocking and de-mirroring (:S). I dont expect an A1 concours job for a grand, but all the other bodyshops were quoting £1800 up, and for me spending that much on a B reg fiesta isnt feasible....

my work charges about £1500, thats a motor respray with absolutly no dents or dings, and color coding bumpers,
mind you thats taxis not cars, but we do cars and lorries for privates, and it depends on what the owner wants, if they want the absolute nuts then its gunna be about £1500-2000,

lock stock the fucking lot?

just to recap...

i need:

2 dents pulling (will pull easy)
bits of rust on the arches (not too bad, just starting to come thru)
doors delocked (1 lock v. rusty)
sidestrips painting black (theyre red at the moment)
paint whole car (making sure that bumpers, bonnet etc. match )

wheels could do with a refurb too, but im probbly gonna get that done at the end of the month when i get new tyres fitted

With the greatest respect Jim, makes me laugh when people say stuff like this... How do you know the dents will pull easily and the rust is just stating to come through the paint, but rub it back I'll bet money its spread alot further... If its scuffed up and filled and painted, It WILL come back needs to be cut and welded ideally..

And no I dont wish to tender for the work

Have to agree with Damo on that one things are never as easy as you think when it comes to things like that, even if its pulled chances are it'll need a skim of filler to get the shape right after, nothing major thou just pointing it out and rust as said if u want it to last will need grinding back further than the rust to make sure its gone then taking care of.

£700 thou is a bloody good price if radders does it for that

If not your looking at the best part of £1500 for what u want doin!!

b19bal thanks for that comment guy

i agree with damo aswell if there is rust to be done most peaple grind it back fill it and then put the paint on, whats the point in doing that to find 6 months down the line it will come back. i grind the rust right back if its not much i fll it with weld grind it back the put a skim of filler over it, if its something like a door corner where there is a hole i cut it out make a new bit for it and weld it in grind it then skim over it.

no one and i mean no one will get there car back untill im happy with what ive done, ive got one member on here that wants me to do his car for him and i think ive got a s2 shell to do in june
