Default Milltek....

Can anyone get decent discounts on Milltek exhausts? I'm umming and aaring whether to buy a non-res system for my Audi S5 but dont really want to pay the £770 price tag for a cat back. I know I can remove / resell after for around the £400/£500 but still a lot of money to front!

So, anyone work for em, know of someone that knows someone?!!! lol

I've never used milltek but I hear loads of good things about the quality of their work. I live round the corner from exhaustuk/cobra sport so they get all my work. Excellent may I add. I'm tempted to try milltek tho for my next project.
Get it bought mate! And let us know how it is

Have they upped there game recently because ive had two different systems on two Audi S4 and both were crap, the fitment was crap and knocked on the rear diff, on one system the hanger snapped, and on the other the baffles started to rattle in the backbox.

Im running a Piper system on my Golf Gti and the quality is spot on and was no where near as expensive as the Milltek system.

Yeah they seem to have. I had a full 4 branch back on my old Mk4 Sri, I had a load of trouble with it blowing on the down pipe joint. I paid over a grand on the exhaust so they had no choice to get it sorted. On my celica it's perfect, had trouble with a missing exhaust tip, but a quick call and it was replaced the next day under warranty.

But I'm willing to try others

My brother has a rear box on his M3 too, it's brilliant on that too.

From what I have seen in the last few years Milltek have really pulled their boot straps up.

I'm having bespoke stainless systems made for both my cars by a local fabricator as we speak including cat delete's on the X5 but they arent costing anywhere near those prices!!
Surely there's a small fabricator near you that can make a system for you? As long as its not powerflow!! Lol

He got it 2nd hand but was still almost as much as I paid for my full system new. Violated with sand used as lubricant springs to mind.

This is my concern Brad, surely they are not made any differently than say Hayward and Scott (who are round the corner from me) or 4 Xtreme exhausts? I presume the size of the baffles determine the noise levels etc?

I was amazed at their prices and as I was a registered company I asked to become a dealer, well I got a measly 20% off retail price, but for some reason their retail prices for Spain are much higher than uk, so even with the 20% discount it worked out about 200€ more than I could have bought it from their online store!!
I asked how is that possible? And what's the point in even becoming a dealer as any client I'd find woul just buy it cheaper online in uk!
Thu responded that's of European price. Bloody idiots!

Don't get me wrong, i know that designing a system to squeeze every last ounce of power from the car is a very exact science! BUT I just wanted to make my v8's sound more like v8's.
My fabricator has 10grands worth of pipe bender and a supernatural talent for tig welding, there won't be any knocking or rattling and both systems will come with a lifetime garuntee so I really can't see any way on earth that gaining a couple (if your lucky) of horsepower can be worth double what I'm paying.
Just my two penneth worth

Edit to say, I would rather have a H&S system over a milltek anyway

We have a Miltek fitted on our R32 Golf Mk5 and its brilliant! Cat back system like yours and it brings the car to life noise wise!

When pottering around town you will never know its an aftermarket exhaust! A quick blip of the throttle and it gives an awesome raspy V6 sound...very throaty...

Used many systems in the past and this is up there with the best of them!

You must get some videos of it in action...my wife wanted a S5 but it was a little out of budget so we settled for a R32 instead for now

a friend of mine has a miltek fitted to his s8 (v10) and it's such a nice sound. throaty on start up and not too bad on a drive, but open the taps and it's spine tingling.

Thats exactly what I was hoping for!! My missus seems to think its going to sound like an old Peco bigbore 4, its difficult to explain to her the noise. I said imagine an Aston martin noise and she was 'whats one of them!!' dumbass!!

bassboy - good to know mate, i had a resonated one my S4 avant so hoping the non-res will be a bit throatier!

One of my friends had a non-resonated, straight through system on his B7 RS4 and it sounded in-sane on full chat.

Cheers,

Well all fitted and bloody hell! The noise is awesome, even me old man said it sounded great!! Not overly loud on idle which is nice but on pullaway and higher revs it rumbles!! VERY pleased!!
