Default Drove a legends car today

Done a drivers experience at knockhill today in a legends car, fuck me I'm hooked ! Absolutely loved it , did a few laps in a new seat Leon first with an instructor and sun was shining and all was good , as soon as I got in the legend it started hosing it down big time , thing was proper fun sliding it about the track , was only a few folk there so empty track but I was the only person in a legend everyone else were in single seaters but they were spinning off everywhere and driving like total fannys , going to book another one soon and prey for good weather but was still awesome even in the torrential rain, anyone on here race them ? Just curious to how much a season costs, found a few for sale on line for between 8-10k for the full set up minus trailer

Love the gear changes in them with the bike gearbox , closest ill ever get to drive a racing car with a sequential shift, so fun going up and down the gears , really fun in the wet but still controllable I was sliding it about no problem , not as if there was any other legends to race lol

my mate does it and i'm sure he said its worked out at about 1700 quid a weekend so far this year for everything fuel /entries/someone running him inc damage/repairs etc it will depend if you run it yourself and buy one or hire it on a race basis with a team running you.
Its defo not as cheap as he first thought.

Definitely much cheaper than say the fiesta st championship or building a compedeitive car for the Scottish saloons , to hire a car over a weekend is 1200 including race entry fees , would go halves with my brother and share the driving and costs but would only do the odd weekend as we're both away with work a lot, might seem a lot , 10k for a race car that's only used occasionally but fuck I've got a 12+k sierra I hardly use so may as well spend it on something that gives me 100% more satisfaction than having an expensive cossie shaped garage ornament

my other mate does the st championship and i dont think thats as dear tbh. buy a car for 8k and hes only put left front tyres on,pads and a front bumper all year i think......he might have fitted a new exhaust in search of some waft....he kinda runs it himself and hasnt had much to do car wise really.

Still fancy buying a legend tho, will never afford a full season but would be mad on a dry track with a full field of cars, I wander if you'd be allowed to take them on track at track days?
