Default Dvla number plates ???

Having a browse on there for a personal plate

Upon putting in a search in it only brings up half a dozen of the sequenced numbers I.e

A13 bam to say a18 bam or a50 bam , a60 a70

So is it a case of say numbers between 50-60 have sold or is it simply a case of they don't put every number in sequence on due to the sheer volume of numbers

As a rule, I think DVLA retained plate numbers 1 to 20 for their special sales, anything else was issued as a standard number. Over the years, I expect many of the 1-20 plates have already been sold so there will be less choice available. Once a car is scrapped, the number will not be issued again.

Is there anyway to freely search if an old prefix style plate was issued or still on a current vehicle ??

Enquire with the DVLA Beefy, they will tell you if they have ever been issued or not, if not they will ask you if you want it putting in auction. Both plates I want have never been issued.

I search on regtransfers.

It seems the same on there. after 20 only 22 33 44 55 and 30 40 50 are available etc, same for 100,111 200,222 etc.
