low temp poblems.
Hi, I am wondering if someone could help me with my problem. Just finished an engine overhaul on my 1.6 blacktop. Done this before on other cars so no I am capable, well, I reassembled the car yesterday and fired her up, she making an awfull noise (sounds like missfire) but after about 10 mins of driving the sounds stop, the shuddering under acceleration on lower revs stop and the car drives perfect (thats why I say temperature related)
Can anyone shed any light on this for me? also, if someone can provide info on the spark before top dead I would be greatfull as I believe it could be pinking more so than missfiring as my spark angle is 12 before tdc.
Cheers.

ok, i have just done a few tests, I hope this can help someone help me. I had the engine running and slowley advanced the throttle, this caused the revs to go up slowley, more importantly, the tps slowley went up with no flat spots at all. though while doing this I did notice that the spark angle did something strange, it went from 12 to 20 to 3 then dropped down to about 8 then after pressing the throttle a little more shot back up to 30 or so, surely this is not normal? i checked this several times and it happened every time, couldthis explain the lumpy acceleration? ( it feels as though I am not firing on all cylinders for a better description
ok then, some further information, I unpluged each spark plug one at a time and turned the engine on, spark plug number one made little to no difference to the engine, the others made a huge noteable difference. The plug is at fault maybe??? or even the coil pack?
