Default Alcohol Injection.

Like water injection, but far better.

People only use water I think as thats whats legal to use on Rallycars etc, and Alcohol inj is against the rules, and most road mods are derived from Racing/Rallying...

Anyone know anything about it?

Ive heard tons about it on US forums, people running mega power with no intercooler at all, just alky injection

I drive it daily and put about 250 miles a week on it. 31 pounds of boost (what's that, like 2.1 bar?) on pump gas and alcohol, all day and every day.
I use an injection kit that uses it's own nozzle and fuel source, similar to the Aquamist kit. www.alkycontrol.com.
It's very nice, I was getting some big knock at 20-21 psi on pump gas before, but with the alcohol injection 31 pounds daily is no problem.
I've had it higher, like 35 psi/2.4 bar, but it made me nervous pouring that much boost into my daily driver.
My car performs as well on 93 octane plus methanol injection as it did running straight 110 octane in the tank, it honestly is the best money I have spent on my car aside from the bigger turbo.
At 31 psi it's made 680 RWHP, but keep in mind that's through a heavy automatic transmission and a fairly loose torque converter, that would be closer to 750 through a standard trans.
That bests what I could do on plain pump gas by a little over 100 RWHP, hard to complain with that!
What do they mean by alcohol? Pure alcohol no? Methanol it seems from what he wrote? Where do you buy methanol or pure 100% alcohol from n what it cost?

In those terms, "alcohol" will mean Methanol Steve, yes.
Don't loose sight of the corrosive effect that methanol has on a lot of rubbers and aluminium, so choose your system components accordingly

Its not for power gaz, its to stop det enabling you to run fuckloads more boost on pump fuel rather than going onto race fuel, read the quote!

Just spraying a bit of pure methanol rather than water

It also makes you blind if u ingest it, and poisons you if you spill it on yer skin and don't wash it

but is highly flamable and cheap to make, doesn't produce as much CO2 etc etc

It only seems to inject a tiny amount, so a 5gallon can would last for bloody ever.

Got the same worries about "relying" on water injection too tho, if it runs out or fails, blammo, but then you could say the same about a fuel injector, a sensor, anything really i guess

seems the germans originally used it mixed with water too,so even longer, apparently to stop it freezing at altitude, but think a 50 50 mix is good at any level, dunno why, explains in second link i think.dont like WI meself tho!

Im NOT interested in a water/meth mix or anything like that, im talking pure methanol spray here, like the link i posted.

Gareth- With my comp ratio and intercooler i dont think il have a problem at all on pump fuel, even at silly boost like 2.5bar, but can get good gains from ign advance too cant you...

race fuel is horrendously expensive, and i want to be able to run my maximum on the road anytime i want, its a road car afterall, i dont want to go to the hastle of swapping fuels just to give it its all.

This post was mainly to see if anyone knew anything about pure alky inj, and so far i guess not
