Hi guys I'm after a it of help identifying what brakes are on my Rs. Previous owner told me they was Rs 2000 disks and calipers (front), but after removing one and measuring disc diameter they are 283ish mm, where as rs2000's are 270mm?

Also any ideas on calipers? I'm hoping they are cossie brakes and I've been misinformed lol

283mm sounds like 2wd cossie front discs, they are usually matched to 4x4 cosworth front calipers. (single piston)

Do they just clear standard wheels

 

Yeah just lol the reason I'm asking is my car has been sat around for a while and I took it for an mot. Car drove fine there and back,but it failed so I sorted work out and took it for re-test and n/s/f brake was sticking.

I removed calipers, checked that pistons and pads were not stuck (which they wern't) and grease sliders but they are still sticking slightly so I'm planning on changing discs, pads, rear shoes and brake fluid so hopefully that will sort it.

 

replace the brake hose at the sticky corner.

 

Would that cause problem? They are braided hoses both sides.

 

when hoses start breaking down internally they can cause the brake to bind.
