Mental cars. My bro's mate has one (S reg) The only carbon I know of tho is the interior trim panels (on dash, doors etc) is carbon fibre, instead of walnut-looking plastic in lesser models

But seriously mental cars. He (my bor's mate) has modded his with uprated suspension/brakes/rims, has the RS4 turbo's and intercoolers, and an exhaust and re-map from AMD, and whilst it has a bad misfire problem, it made over 400 lb/ft on the rollers (can't remember the bhp figure's) AMD estimate when it is cured and sorted, it should run over 400bhp (going for 420 IIRC) and nearer to 500lb/ft

But I really want a BMW 330 TD mapped by Stu to smoke him in - so Stu tells me anyway

Build quality and driveability of the Audi S4 is just SUPERB tho. Like TOny said - bullit proof! I was passenger in it on last years trip to Donny and whilst it felt like we was doing 70mph, we were actually doing 150mph

Std bhp is 250, so it's either tweeked or he don't know what it is

RS4 (same model) makes a huge 380bhp tho, and the only main differences are the turbo's, intercoolers, ECU and exhaust, the rest of the engine is pretty much stock, so you know there is shit loads more to come! 500+ bhp from one of these is not hard to come by!

 

fookme saw an rs4 on the m25 fook that was shiftin!estate thing.squatted and went, even looked rapid!

 

Not as rapid tho as the RS6 4.2litre V8 twin turbo, 460bhp standard, over 500lb/ft, limited to 155mph cos it's too damn fast even for them crazy Germans!

 

Not driven the S4 (unfortunately ) but do have an A4 and it's the tits. Pedals are well positioned for heel and toe Only criticism is the steering feels isolated but this is common on these apparently.

 

Driven a few over the years. Heres my recollections


275 ish brake standard. Responds well to tuning. (remember its virtually the same engine in the RS4)
Very torquey,
very smooth.

Quiet

Crap steering.
Crap brake feel (either On or Off) until you've done a few miles in it and got used to it.
Understeers too much for my liking!

the rs4 has also a different head......which was worked over by cosworth.....thats why the 130bhp jump instead of the s4....

 

Cat - mate, I looked up the specs on a few Audi websites and forums - they all say 250, so Yaself

Wim - But generally the majority of the engine is stock : capacity, pistons, rods, crank, cams etc (as far as I have been otld - like I said, I just get my info off some Audi sites and forums, uch the same as this one)
