I have a 3 door Cossie with a Bailey dump valve that has a ttttiiiisssshhhh sound which is way to loud i want to replace it with a quieter chatter sounding one any ideas which one to go for?

 

For chatter, no D/V

 

How do you get that chatter sound?

 

I believe its when the throttle shuts the compressed air passes back through the turbo blades.

 

Just remove the dump valve and fit a grp A k+n filter for chatter I tried mine with a drilled air box and no dv but it was really quiet. I swap between a grp A filter and no dv, or a big turbo escort cossie air box and baileys dv. I get the cossie paranoia after a while with no dump valve but on long journeys the baileys valve begins to annoy me lol

 

I have some kind of Forge copy DV which still lets the turbo chatter quite a bit. The dump valve doesn't open up on low revs giving some turbo chatter. On higher revs it does open up but still produces slight chatter.
