Mr
Hi all,
I have a couple of problems with my pinto 2 litre engine.
It is from a sierra 2.0i but I use a carb.
It's a 205 block and I have been able to ascertain that it was manufactured in May 1988 engine number beginning with JC, it also has FR on the cam cover.
I have been told it should have some letters stamped next to No4 plug if it can be run on unleaded. I can't see any.
question 1:- can I run on unleaded, if not, what do I need to do.
I have also decided after 20 years (low miles) to replace the cam belt.
question 2:- how do you remobe the crankshaft pulley. I got the bolt out, unfortunately it wasn't doing anything, the pulley is a press fit onto the shaft, I have tried pullers, it just stretches the rubber mounted outer ring, tried making a plate and fitting it to the centre boss using the 4 holes and jacking against the shaft, twisted several unbrako allen keys, still solid.
Has anyone got any ideas please.
Regards
Colin

Only way I got my pulley off was to remove the crank and get it on the banch and heat the pulley with oxy bottles and used a hydraulic puller. It was well on there, hopefully you can come up with another way, best of luck fella.
not too sure how you can tell the difference but its the cylinder head that would need changed to use unleaded , but if it was the injection engine I would think it would be an unleaded head as its newer than the carb model
Thanks for the replies, I've managed to get the pulley off and change the belt. I found a letter "R" stamped on the head so going off previous posts it would seem I can run on unleaded. Thanks again.
