Well she started out as an ex concours mint standard xr2. The guy had owned it for 9 years and had been dry stored pretty much all of its life!
Heres a couple of pics of how it was when i bought it...

Anyway i started stripping her ready for painting and she went off to get the bay done last week! Here is is before it left my driveway...

Decided to paint it Lamborghini Merchialago Orange for some bizarre reason!!
Here is it with the bay painted as per the other day....

Ive got a FRST engine going in with the spec as below:
1650 CVH
Cossie T3 turbo with larger exhaust housing
Fully balanced and blueprinted
Blydenstein gas-flowed cylinder head with silicon valve stems
Low compression pistons (7.0:1 CR)
Escort Cossie Group A K&N Filter
Bailey oil breather system
Bailey Swirl Pot
Ahmed Bayjoo Phase2 conversion
OFAC management
Uprated wastegate actuator
Bosch yellow fuel injectors
Ahmed Bayjoo turbo cam
Custom Pace polished chargecooler system with two cooling radiators and boot mounted two gallon water reservoir
Pace polished alloy radiator
No pics of the engine but will take some later....
Bought the following wheels to go on... Should look sweet on front of my chromed cossie calipers

I also have a freshly powder coated safety devices rollcage going in with a Fusion rear brace (pic below). Its stupidly chunky!

Im keeping the interior stripped except for a pair of bucket, fire extinguiser and a mk3 fiesta dash conversion.
Im hoping to get the lump in this weekend so will try and keep this thread updated!

Rich - it should be running by the end of the month, then to the painters and hopefully all ready for the Fordsport Weekend at the beginning of May

yeah the mounts are the same but you need to use the mk2 cradle and mount. Depending on how you go about it the front cross member needs to be trimmed back slightly so the downpipe drops down (although some people prefer to mod the downpipe - not me as im a lazy fooker!).
Well its going to the painters on Sunday so she'll be a nice shade of orange very soon!!

What painters are you using , i'm looking for someone good around my way to respray mine, do the inner wings and front valance etc.
Any recommendations. I'm in Burnham just down the road

Im using TNT Body Repairs in Southminster (Toby Seamon & Tony Mitchell although Tony isnt there anymore!). He's pretty good but i went with him cause he's cheap! Not fussed on a concours paintjob as it will be blated round track anyway so chips galore!!!
