Valve snapped!!
Hi all. Driving home from work lastnight and doing about 45mph in 5th and car started misfiring and then making a light knocking noise. Dipped the clutch and turned angine off and coasted to a stop.
Took the cams out tonight and found that on No 2 cylinder on 1 exhaust valve it has snapped where the groove is that the collets locate in. So the valve cap and collets are still all as 1 but the valves snapped and still in the head.
Just wondered if any1 has seen this done before as ive never seen it.
Thanks Dale

Well, took the plug out and u can see the end of the valve so im assuming its had a bash off the piston and just jammed in the head.
Gonna take head off tomorrow and see the full extent of the damage. Im hoping it hasn't damaged the guide or seat and its just a valve!

fingers crossed for you mate, when it happened to me it destroyed my engine completely, bits of piston in places you could never imagine, although it was the head of my valve that dropped off
