VW Caddy 08 van..Blown engine but still a bargin!
Hi
Forsale I have an 08 reg VW Caddy in white, I brought it with a blown engine with intentions of putting in a new engine and using it as a van for myself.
However plans have changed and I no longer have the time to do it, I purchased it with the company's graphics on it and have since removed them and cleaned it all up.
The van has service history but is pretty irrelevant now as the engine has put a rod through the block, and possibly done the turbo at the same time although I can't confirm this as I havnt taken it off. It has covered around 120k miles but you wouldn't know with the condition the bodywork is in considering it was a daily van. Had a new gearbox and clutch at 118k miles so near new.
Has twin side sliding doors, twin rear doors, black glass and inner security mesh plates. Has plywood racking system which is removeable and bulkhead protector. Has a Bluetooth Nokia car kit and A/C.
Registered end of May 2008.
I have had quotes for engines around £1800 which is alot but I managed to get a quote for a 55k mile engine for £900 delivered which is very reasonable, if and when it sells I will give the buyer the quote etc and all info needed.
Considering the 2days work it was removing the graphics, I would like what I paid for it which was £1800.
£1800 + £900 engine that's £3000 for a 08 vw caddy with 55k on the clock, you would struggle to find one with 55k on the clock and in as good condition for less than £5k, someone who has the tools and is good with engines etc may take a couple hours to fit the new engine.
So £1800 or nearest offer, can deliver for £1 a mile aswell if needed. Joe

Its a cheap van for someone to make money on it though.

Same engine as in an Audi.
Should be a BKD. The VVT turbo's are a horrendous weak point, usually when they go its a good chance it will hydraulic the engine. On the plus side they start cooing like a pigeon when they are on the way out, so get it changed early.
