How do I indentify which TDCI engine I have?
Hello all, new member here!
I have a late 2003 facelift Mondeo TDCI 130 Auto with 501z injectors.
Basically old engine had no compression on No.1 pot, found broken cam carrier so I suspect piston and valves have had a coming together.
I bought another bare engine (with diesel pump) on basis all I needed to find was a similar FMBA engine code, this one is a 2002 (Mondeo) model, I don't know which injectors it used.
Since purchasing the engine I've read there are differences between FMBA engines but can't find a definitive list or way of computing by engine code number. Now I don't know whether I need to purchase another engine but making sure it's younger than 09/03 or I am safe with the engine I have...? Perhaps it's just injector size, but if that's the case the correct ones for the engine wouldn't be the correct ones for the ECU
Can anybody throw some light on this please?
Thanks
